CharacterCharacter Name: Link
Canon: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Age: Approximately 16 years of age
Appearance: HERECanon Point: End game.
History: HEREAU History: No AU history!
Personality:The shield and sword the youth carries alongside the formality of his very noticeable uniform might give the impression that he's far from being an individual one can afford to mess with, almost as if a strange severity to something unknown were following him. Despite how well the townsfolk of Skyloft(the place he was raised in) know him, even they know to respect those garbs. Fortunately for Link, his kindness and good nature still has a way of expressing itself through silent yet obvious methods to the people and creatures who become acquainted with the Hero Chosen by the Goddess.
Curious, courageous, and caring are Link's first impressions to anyone he meets. Always willing to help without thinking of reward, Link's compassion spreads to all without discrimination (as canonly portrayed when he helps a demon change his ways). To those he cares about, his devotion is to the fullest, he has no qualms in setting aside his own personal goals or gain for the sake of others. Self-sacrificing in nature, he's not powered by greed. He's a young man who really enjoys seeing others happy and isn't afraid to take a step forward to ensure that outcome.
Aside from his good nature, Link is also a very gifted youth. He's able to perfect any technique learned, wield any weapon given, and solve any puzzle that's put before him with very little effort. In his skyward home, he was sometimes considered a lazy boy for this despite his brilliance. To others, his talents, courage, and kindness were seen as insults to his rivals. Link is no stranger to the brutal treatments of bullying. Throughout his childhood, he's been picked on by those who considered him pompous but in all truth's, Link was never that type of person. He is also a firm believer of 'forgive and forget', holding no grudges to those that originally grudged on him. His youth and inexperience towards the world beyond the paradise hidden in the sky can be a clear reason behind his stubbornness to get things done (he won't take no for answers when something is needed, or shy away from scenario's that might be life threatening even if others tell him to run) and rashness in the ways of doing things(He tends to jump in heads first into situations) with his many adventures in battle. Link is very intelligent and gifted, he is quite a force to be reckoned with. Although his strengths can be fitting in battle, there's far more into his person that can keep him unsettled and uneasy despite the exterior he gives. Link is not immune to the ailments of war: fear, regret, devastation, hopelessness- but he understands the fruit of fighting for what's right. All fear for the unknown is nullified when he knows that his sacrifice due to his involvement will protect others from suffering terrible fates.
Needless to say, Link is very capable of feeling anger and hate. Although they're not entirely the feelings that fuel his urge to continue and fulfill, he is not naive. He understands what good and evil represent and signify and how dangerous those emotions can be when wielding so much power. He still feels and he feels well enough (as he portrays his anger towards Ghirahim or his sadness shedding tears for Zelda). He will not raise judgment to anyone unless they prove themselves to only deserve something foul. He's very open minded, eager to learn, and always ready for a challenge even if it's somethign he has to understand and not exactly fight.
Despite his many talents as a warrior on the battlefield, Link isn't quite gifted in leadership as much as others might assume preferring guidance from Zelda or Impa, or anyone with an Idea of where to go. Although he is quite the able fighter and is clearly quite intelligent(dungeons are sometimes mazes that hold hidden puzzles he has to decipher), Link is more of a follower than a leader. He has no qualms in being ordered as long as it's kindly (Impa likes to put him down after all), especially if it's from sources he trusts. Considering he lived a simple life, most of his philosophy revolved around: If there's a problem, you fix it. If someone knows how to fix it, ask them and then do that. If no one knows or if it didn't work out the way you were told, you try to find another way. Simple as that. His reliance on others also comes from his ability to trust. When he trusts someone, he trusts them with his own life.
In regards to his personality around people, he's a rather cheerful and cool guy. He doesn't talk much but he certainly knows how to carry on a conversation. He's also well versed in the ways of social skills (in comparison to his descendents to the Master Sword, of course). His good nature and sense of humor makes him a very likable person. His readiness to help and his own vendetta for good makes him an agreeable person.
Abilities:▲ Weapons Specialist
Favoring the Master Sword over all else, Link is highly specialized in various weapons. From slingshots to whips, from hook-shots to tough beetle's designed to help at far distances, his adventures have sent him into various quests that have allowed him to find a variety of weapons. Using his own previous skills and those he has learned through the journey, Link has become quite a warrior to be reckoned with using the new tools in his large arsenal with precision and technique. Some are better at things than others, the youth is a very fast learner.
▲ Endurance and Stamina
As seen through the video game, Link can do amazing acrobatics and skilled maneuvers in battle, or through tough terrain. He's well built, has high agility, clearly a lot of endurance considering how much he travels and how much fighting he does, and incredible stamina. He is canonly portrayed carrying large heavy objects so he is in good condition.
Although Link is well versed in the ways of wielding weapons, he is not very good without them showing that at times without one he is almost easily overwhelmed.
▲ Triforce Wielder: Courage
Link is a hero chosen by the gods who was granted the power of the Triforce of Courage. Although born with the potential to use the power of the triforce, the gift had been asleep within the youth until provoked. The Triforce of Courage grants him the ability to repel most magic forces.

SamplesFirst Person: [The feed turns on to a blond boy perched on a stairwell in what appeared to be a very vacant corridor of the bathhouse. He was staring at his bare feet wriggling his toes with an almost curious look.]
The floor is cold.
[That was all he was going to say about that. He had never exactly been bare footed indoors much-less out doors. It was a weird feeling, especially when the bathhouse felt like a city. Skyloft wasn't this big, I think....]
Will the food downstairs turn us into pigs? What are we supposed to eat? [He wriggles his toes again and frowns.] Is everyone else bare-footed? [I don't think I like it very much...]
Third Person:His first day as a farm-hand had been going rather smoothly. He had been warned by a certain river spirit that the frog-people normally in charge of this place weren't very nice. He didn't care, verbal abuse was something Link heard usually but their squawking wasn't as threatening as he previously thought. When they saw Link was actually an excellent worker, it pretty much silenced the lot. So much had been done, the pigs had been fed, the feilds had been plowed, and the storage sheds had been repaired. Having the help of an agile little hero always willing to help had put everyone in a good mood and seeing as their work had gone by a lot quicker than most days due to the over-enthusiastic human boy, they had taken a break for dinner.
Link had chosen a nice spot just around the perimeters of the farm-lands where the endless flower feilds began. After a quick inspection of the strange delicacy he had been given by one of those blushing human servant maids, he had gulped his hesitation and took a bit with all the courage the hero was known for. It wasn't bad. Strange, but he could get used to it.
The winds picked up rustling the flower beds behind him and filling his nostrils with that delicious scent. He gave a weak smile as he took another bite of that bun. He would definitely have to bring Zelda here. The mere thought made the boy smile, imagining the girls face at all the various colors cheered him up. After all they had been through, after all the trouble they had gone through to get things back to normal they were stuck here now but he didn't want her to feel bad. They would make the best of it, wouldn't they? It wasn't so bad once you got to think of it. He would have preferred to be back home but he wasn't a pessimistic as the others he had seen. He would find a way back. Eventually. But first he had to find his sword.
